Annabelle Comes Home- What you'd expect

Annabelle Comes Home (2019) is directed by Gary Dauberman and stars Madison Iseman and Mckenna Grace as they deal with the evils that lurk in the Warrens artifact room. Judy is a middle schooler dealing with the bullies in school that think her parents are phony ghost hunters. Her parents are leaving for a case so she is left alone with her babysitter, Mary. When her friend Daniela comes over, she decides to go into the artifact room to talk to her recently deceased father. Annabelle decides to give herself away and cause mayhem. The movie is what you expect from these movies. It is basically like walking through a horror house maze. Tons of loud scares that get right up into your face when you least expect it. I actually liked this movie a lot. I knew going into this movie that there would be a lot of cheap scares but I was interested in seeing how the Conjuring Universe would expand. The acting was okay at best and the movie was very dark at some points to where I didn't even see what was going on. I actually laughed at a couple of moments because of how some lines were delivered. I think this movie succeeded on what it was supposed to do. It's here to set up the eventual Conjuring 3 that will be hitting theaters in 2020.
