Army of the Dead- Viva Las Vegas

Army of the Dead (2021) was directed by Zack Snyder and stars Dave Bautista as a mercenary who is sent into an infested Las Vegas to find a vault with millions of dollars in it. The catch is that a nuke will go off after they are in there for more than 36 hours. Will they be able to get the money and get out? I do have to say, I loved the directing and the art style of the film, but that's where the compliments end. The cast besides Dave Bautista is lackluster and forgettable. The pacing at the start of the film dragged and was dull for about 40 minutes. If the start of this film was better paced, I probably would have been more invested and cared about these characters in the group. The action in the film though was pretty decent. There was a lot of graphic deaths and action with the zombie slaughtering. I have now noticed that Zack Snyder likes to have a lot of flash in his films, but he needs to learn how to take out scenes that bog down the film and make it a chore to get through. With a trim on time and better characters, this film would have been tons of fun. Is it a bloody time with tons of action? Absolutely! But is it also a jumbled mess with tons of filler and a boring start? Yes. I recommend the film for anyone who is interested in a fun zombie film. If that doesn't sound like the movie for you, I would skip this one.
