Bodies Bodies Bodies- Social Media Shenanigans
Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) was directed by Halina Rejin and stars Maria Bakalova as a girl named Bee who is dragged along to a hurricane party with all of her girlfriends friends. Once the storm hits and the drinking games begin, a bad series of event take fold. When fingers are pointed about who the killer is, friendships dissolve quickly. I was really interested in the premise of the film. After seeing the trailer for the film, I was still confused as to what the movie was even about. I really appreciate that. The cast does a good job with the new age dialouge in the film. It really felt like the social media movie of the year. The movie is filled to the brim with all the slang we hear today from the younger generations. The cinematography is also pretty stellar in the movie as well. I love how the film looks with all of the neon and rain everywhere. I think that Pete Davidson steals the show here though. He basically plays himself here, but he takes on the role with all he has. When thinking about the massive twist here, it made sense and did justice to the plot. I was indifferent about the ending though. It felt like it worked but after thinking about it more, it could have been done differently. If you're looking for a decent murder mystery with a cast who has good knowledge of the material, I would highly suggest this film to you.
