Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It- Conjured up a disappointment

Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) was directed by Michael Chaves and stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Ed and Loraine Warren again. They are in the middle of an exorcism gone bad when a boy named Arne (Ruairi O'Connor) gets the demon passed on to him. The demon makes Arne think that a demon is coming after him, but when Arne kills the demon, it is reveled that his mind was tricked into killing a real person. He is sent to jail and Ed/Loraine are now trying to prove his innocence and save him from the death penalty for his crimes. I want to start off by saying this film not only felt rushed, but it was the least scary of the Conjuring films. I found myself tuning out and even getting bored of what was going on the screen. The scares were seen from a mile away and I even guessed the twist at the end of the film early. The one saving grace of the film is the courtroom side of the film. I really loved seeing how they adapted this true story to film. I really enjoyed seeing everyday people sit down and talk about demons and if they are actually real. The credits are actually really interesting and scarier then the actual film. They wrapped up the story and actually showed off the real tapes from the case itself. I loved that stuff and I wish that it was used more in the film itself. The cast is fine and the script is subpar but I feel like that's what you get when you watch these films. Was it a good time? I guess. Will I watch this film again anytime soon? Not at all.
