Fatale- Fatale Attracted

01/05/2021

Fatale (2020) was directed by Deon Taylor and stars Michael Ealy and Hillary Swank. Derrick (Michael Ealy) is in a dying marriage and goes to Las Vegas with his friend and ends up having a one night stand with a woman by the name of Valerie Quinlan. (Hillary Swank) After Derrick goes back home, he has a break in and the detective on the case was his one night stand. After a lot of tension with the thoughts of being exposed, a lot of things start to turn behind the scenes. Will Derrick do anything to save his marriage? First off, I want to start by saying that I really liked this movie. I haven't heard anything about it until I went into the film. Even though I found the plot to be a little predictable, I still found myself constantly invested as to what was going on throughout. Another problem with the film was how the pace dragged in the beginning. To be honest with you, the movie almost lost me there. The second and third act of this film is where Fatale really starts to shine. The drama is escalated when something life altering happens to Derrick and all of the spotlight is shifted onto him. I loved the acting in these moments all around. Really had me caring about the characters on screen and made me want to see justice for them. The ending of the movie also wrapped things up nicely and didn't leave any loose ends. No end credit scene here! Just a thrilling crime drama with some actual scares and laughs throughout. I recommend this to people who miss going to the movies. Definitely go out and see this one because I'm happy my girlfriend suggested it to me.
