Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3- Goodbye Guardians

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (2023) was directed by James Gunn and stars the Guardians, led by Starlord (Chris Pratt) as they deal with Rocket getting injured. As they try to find him help, we get a heartbreaking backstory as to why Rocket is the way he is. This culminates with the last stand for these characters as a group. I want to start off by saying that this film was the correct way to wrap up the group. It is now in my top five MCU movies of all time. It is a very smart film due to how it makes you feel every single emotion. I care about these characters and James Gunn's direction can have my laughing hysterically at points and in tears in others. The set design and cinematography were also stunning. Many of the shots were breathtaking and really had me invested in the world that they are living in. I also really appreciate the comedy throughout the film. I found myself belly laughing at the smallest things just because of how well timed and shot they were. The villain was also phenomenal and really had me excited to see him get what was coming to him. The only gripe I have with the film was the run time. Clocking in at over two and a half hours was daring. Even though the movie was amazing, I think it could have really shaved off thirty minutes. Not only would this have helped the viewing experience, but it could have made some of the plot points and transitions smoother. With that being said, you need to see this movie as soon as you can. It is a wonderful film and really deserves the praise it is getting.
