Halloween- The Boogeyman is BACK

Halloween (2018) was directed by David Gordon Green and stars Jamie Lee Curtis as she reprises her role as Laurie Strode. The movie follows Michael Meyers as he escapes the facility he has been held in since that night over 30 years ago. Laurie has to deal with the fact that he has escaped but is beyond ready to take him down in a moments notice. This all concludes on the night of Halloween. I absolutely love what Mr.Green did with Michael Meyers. He was finally scary. He felt like an un-killable machine. Jamie Lee Curtis also knocked it out of the park. There was a real emotional investment put into how she reacts to Michaels escape. The movie also isn't afraid to get gory. The movie is filled with brutal moments. From slamming someones head into a bathroom stall, to even killing a minor, all of this leads to this version of Michael Meyers being the scariest he has ever been. I did find some of the acting a little lack luster though. I know that some of the teen acting is supposed to be campy, but it was a little too much at some points. There was also a lot of really good humor throughout the film which I appreciated. I am very happy that there are two sequels in the making. I hope they live up to my expectations set by this film!
