It Chapter 2: It all comes to an end

It Chapter 2 (2019) was directed by Andres Muschietti and stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader and Bill Skarsgard. The story follows the losers from the first movie as they are called back to Derry after 27 years to take down Pennywise once and for all. This is by far the best Horror movie of the year. Even though it isn't as scary as I wanted it to be, it made up for this in heart. The connections between the losers club is perfect. Even after not talking for all these years, they come back and immediately connect like old times. The casting was also perfect. The older losers looking exactly like their younger counterparts. Bill Hader steals the show, alongside his fellow loser Eddie, played by James Ransone. The one problem I have with the movie was how long it took to set up the losers in the present. I agree that we needed to see what's been going on with them, but I feel like the could have picked up the pace a little. The scenes where they are all together is where the movie really shines. Pennywise is also back and better then ever. We get to see how he taunts the kids and baits them into "making them float". I also have to give big props to the movie for opening up with such a gut-wrenching scene. It was hard to even watch, yet I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. The ending also had me in tears, no spoilers here, but get ready for it. All in all, the movie was exactly what I wanted from It Chapter 2. It fulfilled the story and gave me more of the universe. The movie is close to three hours long so I suggest getting prepped beforehand. Loved this movie. Don't be surprised when you see it at the top of my movies of the year.
