Jumanji The Next Level- Corrupted Save

Jumanji The Next Level (2019) was directed by Jake Kasdan and stars Dwyane Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black as their characters from the past film. The movie takes place a year after the first. Spencer (played by Alex Wolff) is feeling down on himself so he decides to go back into the game to become Dr. Bravestone again. Once his friends find that he is missing, they go back into the game to save him. There is one problem this time, Spencers grandfather (played by Danny DeVito) gets pulled in as well as his friend. I want to start off by saying that the movie definitely is full of laughs just like the first one. The movie is fast paced and full with action sequences throughout. There were tons of laughs with Dwyane Johnsons impersonation of Danny DeVito. Each of the levels were well designed and were a spectacle in themselves. The problem with the film starts with how dry the jokes get towards the end. There was also a character switch mechanic presented near the middle of the film and it was never made important till the end where it magically appeared for the characters. The villain of the film also felt very generic compared to the first films villain. The movie was a fine sequel to its obviously better counterpart. They do leave it open to a sequel, so I hope that the trilogy of films ends on a high note. I knew it would be hard to live up to the greatness of the first film, but this was clearly not as great. I would still recommend you see this one.
