No Time To Die- Goodbye Mr. Bond

No Time To Die (2021) was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and stars Daniel Craig as James Bond. In this last escapade as the character, he is tasked with destroying a bio-chemical that is being manufactured somewhere secret. After betrayal, love and action like every 007 film, Daniel Craig retires his legendary character. This film is a masterclass in action. Even though I personally enjoy the Mission Impossible films more than the James Bond movies, I have a new found respect for the franchise. Daniel Craig puts in a great performance alongside a wonderful supporting cast. The villain on the other hand wasn't very memorable. Even though Rami Malek is a phenomenal actor, his character was poorly written in my opinion. The run time is also a bit dragged out. I feel like if the movie cut about thirty minutes, the experience would have felt more complete. Moving on, the action in this film is top notch. One standout scene for me was near the end where Bond has to get to the top of a tower. He goes through what feels like a whole army. It was a joy to watch. This film as I stated was Daniel Craigs last performance as the character and the ending felt justified. I won't spoil it, but I believe the audience will be divided. The film was a terrific ending to this interpretation of the character and I cannot wait to see where the 007 franchise goes from here.
