Ready or Not- Killer In-Laws, Killer Movie
Ready or Not (2019) was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and stars Samara Weaving as the bride. She is marrying into the Le Domas family. The family has a dark past that has anyone that joins the family, play a children's game. Once Grace has the game "Hide and Seek" picked, she must find a way to hide from the family until dawn to escape death. This was one of my favorite movies of the year. Everything was phenomenal. From the atmosphere, to the character development, everything was done perfectly. There were even moments of genuine humor where the movie knew what it was, a perfectly done dark comedy. There were moments of pure tension as Grace makes her way throughout the mansion. I personally loved her character develop into a survivor throughout. Adam Brody did an amazing job as well in the film. He was the brother of the groom. In the film, he partakes in theme and finds Grace early on. He lets her have a ten second head start. This further develops into him helping her multiple times throughput the film. It's a nice change from all of the merciless family members who are tracking down the bride. The one problem that I had in the film was how many times I thought the movie was going to end. There were multiple scenes near the end that had me believing that the film was coming to a close, for there to be another ten minutes left to it. This movie was almost perfect. It was basically Clue meets You're Next meets Home Alone. I loved everything about this film and I cannot wait to see it on my top 10 movies of the year.
