Solo: A Star Wars Story- The movie he deserved

06/21/2018

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) was directed by Ron Howard and stars Alden Ehrenreich as the smuggler Han Solo. Donald Glover plays his best friend Lando Calrissian as they try to steal a powerful mineral before the villain Dryden Voss gets there first. Han is in need of a fast ship and luckily, the Millennium Falcon lands in his lap. As a huge Star Wars fan, I was a little nervous to see how this movie would treat Han Solo. He is such a huge character in the franchise so I hoped they would make sure that he is perfect, and I am happy to say that he is. The only thing wrong casting wise was the villain. Even though Woody Harrelson put up a decent performance, his characters motives were weak and underdeveloped. The action is what you expect from the franchise, blasters drawn and explosions aplenty. I also loved all the locations in the movie. The set pieces were beautiful and were a real treat to the eye. Im glad that the filmmakers took a real respect with these origin stories. Rouge One was brilliant and Solo really keeps the tradition going. With the news of a Mandalorian film and an Obi-Wan film, I am very excited to see what Disney does with the franchise.
