Spiderman Movies Ranked
Spiderman was my favorite superhero growing up and there have been many interpretations of him throughout the years. In this post I will be ranking the Sam Raimi trilogy of movies, the two Amazing Spiderman films and the newer Tom Holland films! Hopefully they release the trailer for "Spiderman No Way Home" soon because I am starting to go a little crazy. Let's rank these films!
7. The Amazing Spiderman 2 (2014)

This film was a huge disappointment for me. I enjoyed the first film, but this movie felt corporate to me. Andrew Garfield, even though a good actor isn't my favorite Spiderman by a mile. The villains were alright, but I felt like they weren't as menacing as they should have been. The action is great like always but I feel like there were too many ideas going on during the film to really have a clear focus for what this movie should have been.
My Rating- 6/10
Rotten Tomatoes- 51%
6. Spiderman 3 (2007)

This movie was the conclusion to the first trilogy of films. The movie felt really crowded because of all the villains in the film. From Sandman, green goblin and Venom, I felt like none of these villains were fully developed. The whole change to Peter Parker was also not great at all, but it did lead to some great meme material. This movie does get a lot of hate that it doesn't deserve, but I do see it's flaws. The movie is a decent ending though. I had a lot of fond memories of this film from when I was younger, but I can't deny everything it did wrong.
My Rating- 7/10

5. The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

The Amazing Spiderman was the first Spidy film to come out since the original trilogy ended and I applaud the film for taking on such a challenge. I liked the changes that the characters made in the film and I loved seeing a whole new world/universe being built again. There are some problems throughout with how Peter Parker is portrayed, but I loved most of the other performances. The film had a good villain with the Lizard, but besides that, it still was missing something for me. A good reboot of a beloved superhero, but it didn't leave much to go off of after.
My Rating- 7.25/10
Rotten Tomatoes- 72%
4. Spiderman Homecoming (2017)

Spiderman Homecoming was a surprise for me. I didn't think I was going to like this film because of what The Amazing Spiderman films showed me. I adored this film. I know this is a little controversial to say, but I believe Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker we have had yet. His portrayal of the character seems right for how Peter would act for his age. Michael Keaton was also great as the Vulture. The dynamic between these two characters shined throughout the film. The action was also amazing this time around with the Washington Monument scene being a standout. This is how you reboot a franchise that was almost finished off by the movies that were made prior.
My Rating- 9/10
Rotten Tomatoes- 92%
3. Spiderman (2002)

The original Spiderman is the ideal superhero movie. It's well paced from beginning to end with characters I cared about. Toby Maguires Spiderman is legendary alongside William Dafoe's Green Goblin. I adored this film when I was younger and I have happy to see the film stood up with my standards today. This film would have been one of the best Superhero movies of all time if it wasn't for some of the dialogue being a little too campy. Overall though, a masterpiece of a film.
My Rating- 9.5/10
Rotten Tomatoes- 90%
2. Spiderman Far From Home (2019)

Spiderman Far From Home is a near perfect Spiderman film and possibly the funniest one as well. Tom Holland is in perfect form here. His character is not only well developed, but the characters around him are as well. We also have the second best villain in the series with Mysterio. Jake Gyllenhaal gives a wonderful performance that had me thinking that maybe he wasn't the villain after all. The CGI is wonderfully done and the final bridge fight is stunning. Such an amazing film that had be completely excited for the next one.
My Rating- 9.5/10
Rotten Tomatoes- 90%
1. Spiderman 2 (2004)

Spiderman 2 is the best Spiderman film to ever been released. It has Toby Maguire at his best alongside the best Spiderman villain, Doc Oc, played by Alfred Molina. The movie has heart and deep connections between characters that are coupled with the best action scenes in superhero movies. I adore this film and I don't see this spot being taken in a very long time.
My Rating- 9.75/10
