The Forever Purge- Purged Rights

The Forever Purge (2021) was directed by Everardo Valerio Gout and stars Tenoch Huerta as Juan. A man working on a ranch in Texas. Him and his wife survive their first purge together as they escaped Mexico the year prior. The morning after, everything seems to have gone back to normal until a group of Forever Purgers start a movement to "cleanse" those who aren't "full-bread" American. They only have six hours to make it back to the Mexican border before they are locked in a country that is burning itself to the ground. I want to start off by saying that this is the second best Purge movie in my opinion. The premise of having a forever purge was terrifying. There were some scenes of suspense but the movie relied on cheap jump scares that I could see from a mile away. The acting in the film was subpar with some few scenes that were enjoyable. The gore in the movie was brutal but still dumbed down. I feel like if they took the extra steps to make the more more violent, it would have made the movie more intense. I also really appreciate the themes of the film. I thought that they would be afraid to tackle these themes in todays society, but they executed them well. All in all, I don't think that this movie franchise will ever die off, even if this entry wasn't the killing blow to the saga.
