Toy Story 4- A solid ending to a historical franchise

07/03/2019

Toy Story 4 (2019) was directed by Josh Cooley and stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprising their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. The movie follows Woody as he comes to the realization that he isn't one of Bonnies favorite toys anymore. Bonnie is starting Kindergarten and doesn't have many friends on the first day. She then decides to put a toy together with some trash and creates Forky. Forky thinks that his only purpose in life is to be trash. While on a roadtrip, Forky throws himself out of a the window of the R.V and Woody thinks it's his responsibility to go after him. From there, the two characters get themselves into a lot of trouble. From getting stuck in an antique story with a psycho doll to having a run in with lost toys. The story itself is actually really well paced. I never found myself bored or loosing interest with what was going on. The movie is also laugh out loud funny. I actually had a couple of instances of my sides hurting due to laughter. Animation was near life like. It genuinely had me in awe with a couple of sequences. One thing I wished the movie focused more on was Buzz. When you think of the Toy Story Franchise, you always think about Woody and Buzz but it felt like he took a huge backseat this time. The ending even had me in tears. It was like watching the end to my favorite childhood movies. I had a great time with this movie and I think you will too.
