Train to Busan- Train Ride From Hell

Train to Busan (2016) was directed by Yeon Sang-Ho and stars Gong Yoo as a father who is taking his daughter to see her mother for the weekend. He barely has time to see his daughter, so to make her happy, he decides to put work aside to take her. Once on the train, a zombie outbreak erupts and everyone is forced to save themselves. This movie is a horror masterpiece in my opinion. The infected in the film are horrifying. They are the fast moving zombies and they will pile on top of each other to get to you. Even though the movie is in Korean and has subtitles, the acting really conveys the emotions that these characters are going through. There are many sad moments throughout that had me feeling like I truly know these characters. Big round of applause to Ma Dong-seok, who does a great job with character work and clearly is the scene stealer here. On the other hand, the director has many moments in the film where I thought that some of the decisions that the characters made did not fit the style or tone of the film. They had a hint of comedy to them and believe me, it was nice to have comedic relief, but I personally think it could have been done better. Otherwise, this movie is phenomenal. I highly recommend this one to any fan of the horror/zombie movie genre.
