Venom: Let There Be Carnage- Symbiotic Screw-up

10/10/2021

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) was directed by Andy Serkis and Stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. After the events of the first film, Eddie and Venom continue to take up the journalism gig. They are then assigned to a case for Cletus Kasady, (Played by Woody Harrelson). Cletus is a serial killer who gets in contact with Eddies blood, morphing him into the symbiote Carnage. Eddie/Venom then take it upon themselves to defeat Carnage and save the city once again. I am gonna start off by saying that this film goes by way too fast. When the end approached, I found myself confused as I thought the film was only halfway done. Tom Hardy does a phenomenal job once again as Eddie Brock and his relationship with Venom is even more in-depth then the last film. If you didn't enjoy the banter in the first film though, you'll be disappointed to hear that even more of that banter is here. I also have to say that I am very disappointed with how they handled Carnage. Woody Harrelson did a great job with the role, but I feel like the film was lacking because they didn't give enough time to set up his character. His love interest in the film, (played by Naomi Harris) was forgettable and honestly kind of annoying. The movie wraps up with a bunch of computer generated fights and the film abruptly ends. I was sitting there disappointed until an end credit scene turned on. Let me tell you, this was the best end credit scene I have ever witnessed. My crowd went nuts. I was in total shock as to what I was seeing and that scene has me insanely hyped for whats to come. Sadly though, a mediocre movie cannot be saved by something after the credits.
